The French Embassy in Nigeria is currently accepting applications for the post of English language assistant program to work in France during the 2024–2025 academic year (December 18 to January 19).

  • Before several mandatory deductions including social security, etc. were deducted, the monthly remuneration was fixed at €1,010.67 gross, or roughly €800 to €813 net.

Eligibility Requirements

Prospective Candidates for the Ambassade de France au Nigeria English Language Assistants Program must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must be Nigerian citizens between 20 and 30 years old at the mission’s commencement. Permanent residents, unfortunately, are not eligible for this program.
  • Prospective candidates should have completed their secondary education in Nigeria and be currently enrolled in or have graduated from a university within the past two years.
  • A minimum of two years of university studies at the time of application is a prerequisite.
  • Given the nature of the program, candidates must possess a minimum B1 Level in French and be native English speakers.
  • Single candidates are preferred due to the modest assistant salary, which may not adequately support dependents.

As a language assistant, you’ll be a non-permanent State agent, working 12 hours per week for a contract duration of seven months.
