Established by the Government of Jamaica in 2016, under the Office of the Prime Minister, this program recognizes the abundance of talented individuals in Jamaica who possess a genuine interest in their country’s development and have the potential to make a significant impact.

Being selected as a Jamaica House Fellow is both an honour and a privilege. Throughout the two-year duration of the program, Fellows are appointed as full-time employees and receive compensation as they work alongside senior technocrats from various ministries, departments, and agencies of the government. Fellows operate within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, tackling complex tasks that require their expertise.

 Eligibility Criteria

  • All applicants must hold Jamaican citizenship.
  • Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of submitting their application.
  • Familiarity with the priorities, economic programs/policies, and Vision 2030 of the Government of Jamaica (GOJ).
  • Understanding of international affairs/initiatives, such as the strategic priorities of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), European Union (EU), World Bank, and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), encompassing Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) and Globalization, and how they influence Jamaica’s economic growth and development.
  • Proven track record of professional accomplishments.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in research and organization.
  • Evidence of commitment to community service.
  • Capability to take initiative.
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the capability to work under pressure and adhere to stringent deadlines.
  • Must be willing to go beyond the given assignments.
