The call for applications is now open for CICOPS Scholarships 2025. The University of Pavia in partnership with EDiSU (Institute of the Right to University Studies), has announced the call for applications for the Committee for International Cooperation and Development (CICOPS) Scholarships 2025.
Six scholarships to visiting scholars for the year 2025, for a stay of four to twelve weeks at the University of Pavia, are being offered by the University of Pavia and EDiSU to promote international cooperation, particularly with Developing Countries (as defined by the World Bank as low, lower middle, and upper-middle-income economies).
Applicants from developing countries who would like to work with a professor at the University of Pavia on a research project are encouraged to apply. Applications without an official invitation letter will not be considered. Applicants must have the backing of a University of Pavia collaborator who extends an invitation to them.
CICOPS Scholarships Details
A minimum of two years of teaching experience or involvement in international organizations and institutions is required of applicants for the CICOPS Scholarships for 2024. For short-term research collaboration, CICOPS scholarships are anticipated to promote the mobility of researchers from developing countries (as classified by the World Bank).
Applications are not accepted from candidates enrolled in doctoral or postgraduate programmes at Italian universities.
Eligibility Criteria for CICOPS Scholarships 2025
To be eligible for the CICOPS Scholarships:
- Applicants must have worked for international groups and institutions for at least two years, or they must have experience teaching.
- All interested Junior and senior faculty members at universities in developing nations, as well as staff members of significant research centres, international organizations, and other institutions that focus on development studies, can apply for these scholarships.
- In order to promote the mobility of researchers from developing nations, CICOPS scholarships are set aside for short-term research collaboration.
- Candidates who are enrolled in postgraduate or doctoral programmes at Italian universities are not permitted to apply.

- The stay should fall between the dates of January 13–July 20, 2025, and September 8–December 21, 2025. To promote interaction between staff and students.

- Curriculum vitae (CV) showing a list of publications
- An Invitation letter received from the professor
- It’s important to note that an application without an accurate named CV and invitation letter will not be taken into consideration.
- Applicants must complete the Please application form once they have received the letter of acceptance from their contact Professor at the University of Pavia.
Application Deadline
The application deadline for CICOPS Scholarships 2025, is May 31st, 2024.
