The WFF Youth Action and Policy Track is designed to bring together and empower young individuals from diverse backgrounds worldwide. By engaging in discussions about local priorities and challenges, participants have the chance to identify creative and practical solutions for a brighter future in food. The Youth Policy Board (YPB) plays a crucial role within the Youth Action and Policy Track, overseeing the operations of the WFF Youth Assembly.

Program Details

The group aims to oversee the Youth Assembly, formulate youth policy stances on food and agriculture issues, and organize regional initiatives, which will offer guidance for important upcoming events and the Youth Assembly during the year, including the WFF annual flagship event. The Youth Assembly’s goal is to initiate discussions on regional and thematic topics for policy input, develop viewpoints, and collaborate on activities within the WFF Youth Action Track.

The Youth Policy Board is currently inviting applications from individuals aged 18 to 35 who are interested in joining the new cohort.

  • Gain exposure and recognition by speaking at global, regional, and local events related to policy matters.
  • Utilize the network and resources provided by the WFF secretariat to empower youth in transforming agrifood systems.
  • Increase visibility through WFF’s social media channels and extensive network of partners.

Eligibility Criteria

  • They invite individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 to join the new cohort. Candidates should be 35 years old or younger throughout their mandate, which lasts until April 2026.
  • It is important to have a good command of spoken and written English.
  • Being available and capable of participating in regular Youth Policy Board (YPB) meetings is required.
  • Having experience and a strong interest in agrifood systems issues is desired.
  • Embracing and upholding WFF’s core values is essential.
  • The ability to dedicate approximately 20 hours per month to this role is expected.

Application Procedure

As a YPB member, your main role will be to oversee the operations of the Youth Assembly. It’s important to familiarize yourself with the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the Youth Assembly.
