If you are involved in an inventive education initiative benefiting marginalized learners, Theirworld may be able to support the advancement of your project. The Education Innovation Awards assist pilot-stage recipients in preparing their innovations for scalability.
By enhancing their abilities and capacity through foundational courses, specialized classes, mentorship, and grants for scaling. We are currently seeking new applicants for the fourth group of the Awards, following the successful support of three previous cohorts from 2021 to 2024.
In 2024, they are specifically seeking applications from organizations focusing on:
- The use of Artificial intelligence in education for those who are most in need.
- Education in crisis or conflict
- Climate change education.
Benefits
- Winners are provided with assistance to further their development, which includes leadership coaching, specialized training sessions, personalized mentoring, and a potential grant of up to £50,000 each.
The programme will:
- Provide you with the skills needed to strategize for the future growth of your organization.
- Offer assistance in taking a step back from the daily routine to reflect and plan with guidance from professionals and mentors.
- Enhance your team’s abilities and expertise through a variety of educational opportunities, including masterclasses, mentoring, and coaching.
Eligibility Requirements
- Open to legally registered non-profit organizations such as NGOs and charities.
- Your organization must have a Child Protection Policy, a bank account, and be capable of completing the application form in its entirety, which includes submitting your most recent annual report and audited accounts.
- Your innovation and organization must have been established for at least 18 months by March 1, 2024.
- The innovation should have reached a minimum of 2,000 learners and/or teachers between March 1, 2023, and March 1, 2024.
- Evidence of the impact of your pilot should be available, ideally from an external evaluator (though third-party validation is not mandatory).
- Your innovation should have been tested in at least two locations, which can be different communities within the same country.
- Your organization must have sufficient funding to sustain operations for at least one more year at the current level.
- Your innovation should align with Sustainable Development Goal 4, focusing on inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
- They are especially interested in applications from organizations engaged in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education for the most vulnerable learners, Education in crisis or conflict, and Climate change education.
- They give priority to applications from Community-Led Organizations, which are defined as:
- Registered in the country where they operate
- Staffed predominantly by individuals who are citizens of, or reside in, the country of operation
- Governed by a board composed of members who are citizens of, or live in, the country of operation
- Innovations are eligible if they encompass new products, services, or processes that generate educational value and have the potential to catalyze significant change by transforming how education is delivered at a systemic level.

The process is simple:
- Begin the application process by applying here.
- If you meet the criteria, you will be sent a link to access the online application form.
- Fill out the application form, budget, and create a brief video. All applications should be submitted by 4:00 PM GMT on Sunday, March 31, 2024. It is estimated that completing the form will take approximately one hour.
- The selection process is anticipated to be completed by May 2024, and the chosen organizations will be informed around that time.
