The main objective of the Young Caribbean Water Entrepreneurs Shark Tank Competition is to offer young individuals, aged 18 to 34 years, from the Caribbean region a special platform to present their creative and impactful project ideas related to water resources management.

The competition aims to support and foster improved water management practices in the Caribbean by showcasing innovative solutions proposed by the youth.

Program Overview

many years, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) has recognized the vital significance of involving young people in water governance and management initiatives. As the region’s youth will ultimately inherit the development challenges in the Caribbean, they are seen as solution providers with the ideas and energy to contribute to sustainable development. Therefore, GWP-C aims to empower young individuals to become agents of change and drive progress in Caribbean water security.

However, GWP-C has observed that many young people involved in the water and related sectors often lack access to funding and resources to advance their project ideas. Additionally, they may face difficulties in obtaining technical support to transform their ideas into fully feasible projects.

To address this gap, GWP-C will provide seed funding for the most promising project or idea in the following themes:

  • Water and Agriculture
  • Water and Climate
  • Water and Health
  • Water and Energy
