The Reason for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Huge Installs Size

The reason for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 huge installs size; Activision has laid the blame on zombies for the big 200GB install size for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. This simply means that everything comes at a price.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Installs Size

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is beginning to become a reality for players as the early access of the campaign has already started, and the gates will be open to the rest of the public to come to its full release on the 10th of November.

Unluckily, as more players start to download Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, more of them are encountering the huge install size that is needed to play the first-person shooter. In a bid to start playing, you will first have to face up against the 200GB install size. Some PS5 players have even resorted to report file sizes of 240GB once Call of Duty HQ and the campaign, on the other hand, are installed.

Activision’s Blame for the Huge Download Size

Activision on its end has since blamed the “increased amount of content available Day 1” in a social media post.  This as you should know includes the new open-world Zombies, map files for the present Call of Duty: Warzone, as well as support for items that are being carried forward from Modern Warfare 2.

However, if it is that you don’t have 200GB at the ready-to-be dedicated to Modern Warfare 3, then you have nothing to worry about; you at least have some control over what is being installed. “You can manage your Call of Duty files in the ‘manage files’ section of the CoD HQ launcher menu,” Activision notes. “This includes the ability to uninstall specific content you are not actively playing.”

No Guarantee That This Will Make Any Major Download Cuts

While there is really no guarantee that this will make any major download cuts, you just may be able to shave off a couple of gigabytes all thanks to the uninstallable component settings that is being pretty granular. Activision is even at the moment working on “ongoing optimization efforts,” which will hopefully mean that the final install of the game should be smaller than the “combined previous Call of Duty experiences.”

How the Current Download Size Will Affect Players

The current download size as you should know is really not ideal for many, but veteran players on the other hand will not be surprised by it. The last title in question, Modern Warfare 2, has a download size of 150GB, so there is certainly a precedent here.
