Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Finally Gets a Release Date. The release date has finally been released for “call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” by Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward. The teaser trailer that was released recently revealed an October 28, 2022, launch for the upcoming game but did not exactly say anything about the availability or other gameplay elements of the game.
Despite Microsoft’s planned Acquisition of Activision, the software giant has promised that the in-development “call of Duty” games would still be available on Sony’s PlayStation platform also.

The short blurb for the trailer confirms that familiar faces like Simon “Ghost” Tiley, Kyel “Gaz” Garrick, and John “Soap” MacTavish, among others, would be featured in the anticipated title. The game is set to bring in Mexican forces colonel Alejandro Vargas as one of the major characters. While not in possession of actual gameplay details, the trailer offers a glimpse of the photorealistic graphics that excited fans are expecting from the game.
And just to be devoid of confusion, this is not a reboot of the 2009 title of the same name, but a sequel to the modern Warfare game that was launched in 2019, which turned out to be a critical and commercial success for the studio. Currently, Activision and Infinity Ward are tight-lipped about what they have in the “Modern Warfare 2” pipeline, but there are some juicy rumors going around.
What to Expect
As stated by a report from VGC, the upcoming game would be focused on the U.S. special forces operative going against Colombian cartel runners in a covert war. A leaker that goes by the Name @RalphsValve tweeted what looks tweeted what seems like internal presentation materials or game UI, which tips something with the name “Moral System” for the game. The latter would be reported to arrive as some form of moral compass that would take into account a player’s action and accordingly unfold the story for them.
A leak from Eurogamer stated that “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” would feature a new mode called the DMZ inspired by the extraction-style elements borrowed from the acclaimed RPG “Escape from Tarkov.” Aside from that, the usual solo mode and multiplayer fare, a mysterious third mode is also said to be in the pipeline. Leaks stated that the new gun inspection feature would be arriving with the highly-anticipated game, and there is also chatter that fan-favorite maps that include Quarry, afghan, and Highrise are set to make a return.

Some bold proclamations about the “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2,” hyping the game in its Q1 2022 financial results as “The most advanced experience in the history of the franchise” during the company’s earnings call.
Work would be going on in the new “Call of Duty” Mobile game called project Aurora which was built on the battle royale experience with the much faster-paced action. At the moment, the game is currently in the closed alpha testing phase, but no release date has been attached yet.
