The Food Systems for Nutrition Innovation Lab Training is currently accepting applications for its 2024 Fellowship program.
The training fellowships aim to cover costs related to enrolling in either online or in-person educational programs offered by local or international institutions focusing on food systems in low- or middle-income countries (LMIC).
Food Systems for Nutrition Innovation Lab Training Fellowship
The training program will concentrate on at least one of the following technical areas identified by FSN-IL:
- Preventing food loss and waste
- Enhancing food safety
- Improving the availability of nutrient-dense foods and access to them
- Developing metrics for monitoring food systems’ impacts on nutrition
Funding Details
- In 2024, a maximum of eight training fellowships will be granted.
- The fellowship award totals USD 5,000, which will cover economy airfare expenses.
- The fund is applicable as a qualified expense only if the training is conducted in person and requires travel far from the applicant’s residence location (town, city, or country).
Eligibility
- The fellowship is open to emerging scholars who are engaged in food systems or health and nutrition work in Bangladesh, Malawi, Mozambique, or Nepal. It also welcomes applications from students (undergraduate, graduate, PhD, post-doc) who are enrolled in accredited universities in these countries with programs related to food systems or health and nutrition. In addition, students from institutions designated as Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) by the United States government are eligible to apply.
- As an applicant, you must be interested in food system and/or innovation training, including short courses, certificate programs, and workshops, provided that the course content and applicant narrative demonstrate substantial engagement with key food systems and innovation concepts.
