Nominations are currently open for the Zuckerberg Water Prize 2024. The objective of this prize is to recognize and appreciate the remarkable accomplishments and worldwide significance achieved by an individual or organization within the broader field of water.
The award presentation will occur at the International Water Summit, a biannual event. During this ceremony, the recipient will have the opportunity to deliver a talk in their specialized area and participate in the complete program.
To enhance the reach, fairness, and influence of this award, recipients are encouraged to contribute $5,000 of the prize money towards a water-related initiative of their choice.

- The Zuckerberg Water Prize presents a biyearly recognition of $60,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nominees from any region are eligible.
- The Zuckerberg Water Prize invites the nomination of individuals who are conducting, developing, or implementing meaningful and enduring water-related research, solutions, management, and policies across the globe.
Evaluation Criteria
Nominated candidates are assessed based on the following criteria, with an emphasis on promoting equal opportunities:
- Remarkable accomplishments with lasting impact.
- Academic, technological, or policy research, or international development.
- Advocacy for public causes
- Leadership in water-related matters.
