Applications are presently open for the GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders 2024-2025. The scholarships aim to support the education and advancement of emerging leaders in global health and to enhance the capability of healthcare systems and health-related research in Africa.
These scholarships are highly sought-after and will be awarded to individuals planning to pursue a one-year, full-time MSc program at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in London.
Benefits
For the 2024-25 academic year, there are three scholarships accessible. Each scholarship will include the following provisions:
- Coverage of tuition fees, including any compulsory field trip fees.
- A tax-free stipend (living allowance) amounting to GBP 19,500.00.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for these scholarships, candidates must:
- Be citizens of and residing in countries within sub-Saharan Africa
- Plan to return to sub-Saharan Africa upon completing their MSc year at LSHTM
- Affirm their inability to finance the proposed study program by submitting the Scholarships Application Form
- Meet LSHTM’s specified minimum English language proficiency criteria
- Have earned a first degree at the equivalency level of either a first or upper second class
- Possess an offer of admission for the 2024-25 academic year for one of LSHTM’s London-based intensive MSc programs
Priority will be given to applicants who, through their application materials, demonstrate the potential to make substantial contributions to public health and/or health-related research in Africa.
How To Apply For GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders 2024-2025
The process of applying for the scholarship involves two steps. To be eligible for consideration for the funding, applicants must fulfill all the eligibility criteria and complete both of the following steps before the scholarship deadline of 23:59 (GMT) on Monday 04 March 2024.
Step 1
Apply for the 2024-25 London-based MSc program of study, following the instructions provided under the ‘How to Apply’ tab on the relevant program of study page.
Step 2
When applying for your program of study, you should indicate the scholarships you are applying for in the ‘FUNDING DETAILS’ section of the application form. Failure to select the GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders on your application will result in exclusion from consideration for this funding.
As part of Step 1, you must upload a completed Scholarships Application Form along with your application to study. Without a completed Scholarships Application Form, your application will not be considered complete. This is the only scholarship attachment required, as references, transcripts, CVs, etc., should have already been submitted as part of the application for study.
