The Chevening Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Fellowship

This fellowship represents a collaboration between the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. The Chevening OCIS Fellowship

This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for selected candidates to engage in self-directed research. Fellows will engage their proposed projects over a six-month period, with a  focus on the culture and civilization of Islam and contemporary Muslim societies worldwide.

Chevening OCIS Abdullah Gül Fellowship

The Abdullah Gül Fellowship is another exciting opportunity within this program. Like the Chevening OCIS Fellowship, it provides a six-month period for research, with a particular focus on the culture and civilization of Islam and contemporary Muslim societies.

  • A demonstrated potential for leadership and influence.
  • Personal, intellectual, and interpersonal qualities reflect leadership potential.
  • Willingness to return to your home country upon completion of the program.
  • Possession of a postgraduate-level degree qualification at the time of application.
  • Significant professional and/or academic research experience, preferably five years or more.
  • Proficiency in the English

For Chevening OCIS Fellowship

  • Nationals/citizenship from specific countries
  • A demonstrated potential for leadership and influence.
  • Personal, intellectual, and interpersonal qualities reflect leadership potential.
  • Willingness to return to your home country upon completion of the program.
  • Possession of a postgraduate-level degree qualification at the time of application.
  • Significant professional and/or academic research experience, preferably five years or more.
  • Proficiency in the English
  • Exclusion: Holders of British citizenship or dual-British citizenship are not eligible.
