Netflix drops the first teaser trailer for Spaceman starring Adam Sandler. Besides starring Adam as a haunted astronaut, the film also stars Paul Dano and it will start streaming in March of the coming year.

The next sci-fi movie of Netflix has a surprising lead. The streamer in question just released the first (very short) teaser for Spaceman, which as you should know stars Adam Sandler as an astronaut who encounters a mysterious alien creature (reportedly voiced by Paul Dano) while he was on a research mission in space. The film which is directed by Johan Renck, sounds weird and kind of grim and it is based on the Czech novel Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfař.
The Premise of the Movie
Without any much adu, here is how streamer Netflix describes the premise of the movie;
“Six months into a solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub (Sandler), realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan), he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship. Hanuš (Dano) works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it is too late.”

There is however not a lot to go on in the just-released short teaser, but the setup in question holds a whole lot of promise, and I, for one, am really happy to see Sandler return to serious fare. Renck in a post on Netflix’s blog, said of Sandler, “I really wanted to have a performance from him that had nothing to do with the Adam Sandler we all know.”
Cast and Release Date of Spaceman
The rest of the Spaceman cast in question includes Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini, and the film begins streaming on Netflix on March 1st, 2024.
