Applications are open for the GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders 2024 – 2025. Three scholarships are available to support the training and development of the next generation of leaders in global health and enhance the capacity of health systems and health-related research in Africa.
These competitive scholarships are specifically for individuals planning to pursue a one-year, full-time, London-based (face-to-face) MSc program at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) for the academic year 2024-25.
Award Details
Three scholarships are offered for the 2024-25 academic year. Each scholarship will cover:
- Tuition fees, plus any mandatory field trip fees.
- A tax-free stipend (living allowance) of GBP 19,500.00.
Eligibility for Funding
To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must:
- Be nationals of, and residents in, countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Intend to return to sub-Saharan Africa upon completion of their MSc year at LSHTM.
- Confirm financial need through the submission of the Scholarships Application Form.
- Meet LSHTM’s minimum English language requirements.
- Hold a first degree at either a first or upper-second-class equivalency level.
- Have an offer of admission for the 2024-25 academic year for one of LSHTM’s London-based intensive MSc programs.
Note: Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate the potential to make significant contributions to public health and/or health-related research in Africa.
How to Apply
The application process involves two steps and you must meet all the eligibility criteria and complete your application before the deadline which is 23:59 (GMT) on Monday 04 March 2024.:
Step 1
- Apply for the 2024-25 London-based MSc program of study as instructed under the ‘How to Apply’ tab on the relevant program page.
Step 2
- In your application to study, choose the GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders in the ‘FUNDING DETAILS’ section. Failure to select these scholarships will result in exclusion from funding consideration.
- Attach a completed Scholarships Application Form to your study application submitted in Step 1. This form is the sole required scholarship attachment, as applicants should have already submitted references, transcripts, a CV, etc., as part of their study application. Ensure both steps are completed by the scholarship deadline of 23:59 (GMT) on Monday, March 4, 2024.
Application Review
All applications will be reviewed and processed after the deadline. Every application submitted before the deadline will be considered equally, regardless of the submission date.
