FASPE Journalism Program 2024 (Fully-funded) – APPLY NOW

If you’re a young journalist or an early-career professional looking to explore the field of professional ethics and ethical leadership, the FASPE Journalism Program 2024 is offering you an opportunity to gain enriching experience.

FASPE Journalism Program

FASPE, which stands for Fellowship at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics, is not your typical Holocaust studies course or genocide prevention program. Instead, it offers a unique curriculum that challenges Fellows to critically examine ethical concerns within their professions in contemporary settings.

FASPE’s primary goal is to encourage its Fellows to embrace their roles as ethical leaders in journalism and media. It begins by analyzing the actions and choices of German and international journalists in covering and supporting Nazi policies during a dark period in history.

Using this historical example, FASPE Journalism Fellows learn to recognize and confront the ethical issues that journalists and media institutions face today.

FASPE Journalism Program – What to Expect

FASPE Journalism awards 14 to 16 fellowships each year to journalism students and early-career journalists. These fortunate individuals get to embark on a two-week journey to Berlin and Poland, visiting significant sites of Nazi history. During their stay, they actively participate in daily seminars led by specialized faculty.

FASPE combines the power of place with academic rigor, providing a unique and enriching learning experience. The program encourages creative exchange and critical discussions, drawing on a diverse pool of applicants from various backgrounds.

Journalists travel with Medical and Seminary Fellows, offering them a chance to broaden their understanding of the roles of professionals in other fields. Shared meals and activities create an atmosphere of mutual learning and interdisciplinary discussions.

Benefit – FASPE Journalism Program

The most significant advantage of the FASPE Journalism Program is that it is fully funded. Financial constraints will not stand in the way of your participation, allowing you to focus on your education and growth as an ethical journalist.
