In order to improve criminal justice practices to be more effective and fair, it is essential to introduce and assess new policy measures that can be implemented by local, state, and federal policymakers.
The Arnold Ventures Criminal Justice Innovation Fellowships will provide support to five post-doctoral fellows who are conducting policy-driven research aimed at innovating and evaluating cost-effective and scalable policy solutions to enhance the effectiveness and fairness of criminal justice practices.
The fellowships will commence in September 2024 and will be offered for durations of up to three years. Fellows will be required to undertake research relevant to criminal justice practices in the United States and to dedicate up to 25% of their time to Arnold Ventures research projects.
Benefit
- For fellows who reside in the United States, they will receive a salary of $120,000 per year along with comprehensive benefits and annual salary increments. Alternatively, fellows have the option to reside outside of the United States and receive a fellowship stipend of $120,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Researchers pursuing relevant informal research to develop and assess cost-effective and scalable policy solutions that enhance the effectiveness and fairness of criminal justice practices are encouraged to apply.
- A Ph.D. obtained between September 2019 and September 2024 is required for fellows.
- Fellows have the flexibility to reside in the location of their preference.
