AIIDEV Africa is excited to announce the 2024 cohort of the Africa SDGs Mentorship Programme, a seven-month fellowship designed to offer mentorship to young African professionals, empowering them to become advocates for sustainable development in their respective countries.
AIIDEV Africa SDGs Mentorship Programme
This initiative aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to equip the next generation of African leaders with the necessary skills, knowledge, and connections to promote sustainable development throughout the continent.
The programme seeks to fill the mentorship gap for young professionals in Africa, particularly those passionate about sustainable development, as a means to enhance their capacity and cultivate future leaders. Through pairing participants with experienced mentors, the fellowship aims to bridge the skills divide and cultivate a new cadre of leaders prepared to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs in Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
Before applying to this program, please review the following eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must be citizens of any African nation aged between 25 and 40 years.
- Candidates need to hold at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in a relevant field.
- Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of professional experience in a sustainable development-related field or demonstrate their dedication to advancing the SDGs through volunteer work or personal projects.
- Applicants must exhibit a genuine passion for sustainable development and a commitment to supporting the SDGs in Africa.
- Participants are expected to show potential for leadership and a strong dedication to creating positive change in their countries and communities.
- Fellows must be willing and able to actively engage in the seven-month mentorship program, which includes attending training sessions, workshops, and mentoring meetings.
- Candidates need to commit to fully participating in the program, collaborating with mentors and peers, and completing all required activities.
- Proficiency in English is essential as the program will be delivered in this language.
- Applicants should have access to a dependable internet connection and necessary technology tools to engage effectively in virtual activities and meetings.
