The Canon Female Photojournalist Grant 2024 is an esteemed accolade that aims to support and uplift women in the realm of photojournalism. In partnership with Visa pour l’Image, Canon will award this grant to a distinguished female photojournalist, recognizing her significant contributions and accomplishments in the field.
Grant
- The grant, which totals €8,000, is intended to offer support for an engaging new project that will be displayed as an exhibition at the 2025 festival. In addition to providing financial aid, this endeavor provides the recipient with a platform to showcase her work, presenting a distinctive chance to garner recognition in a highly competitive field.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have finished at least one photo-reportage, regardless of whether it has been published or not.
- They should be experienced and professional photojournalists.
- Proficiency in either French or English is mandatory, as applicants must possess the ability to communicate and write in one of these languages.
How To Apply
To apply, candidates must submit a dossier including:
- An application form that is duly signed by the candidate.
- A copy of the candidate’s identity card or passport.
- A sworn affidavit that verifies the candidate’s standing as a professional photojournalist (an attestation of honor composed by the photographer themselves, the agency they work for, or the newspaper they are affiliated with).
- A comprehensive curriculum vitae.
- An anonymous letter of recommendation that includes a description of the photo reportage project (limited to a maximum of 1 page). The letter should not disclose information that could lead to the identification of the candidate.
- A forecasted budget for the photo-reportage project, which the Grant will be utilized for if secured. If the financing will involve other partners, they must be sanctioned by Canon and Images Evidence, who withhold the right to decline citing them.
- A photo-reportage captured in black and white or colored images: comprising between 10 and 20 photos.
