From K7.8 billion ($319.93 million) in 2022, the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) reported an increase.

ZICTA stated in the report: “Overall, the increase in mobile network operator (MNO) revenues was attributed to the continued growth in adoption of ICTs, particularly mobile cellular technology for various uses, and is expected to increase reinvestments in the subsector.”

The total number of active mobile cellular subscriptions was somewhat higher at the end of 2023 than it was at the end of 2022. From 19.8 million subscribers in 2022 to 21.1 million subscribers in 2023, the total number of active mobile cellular subscriptions grew by 6.4%.

ZICTA’s Projections

According to ZICTA’s projections, the number of mobile users will rise from 21.9 million at the end of 2024 to 22.8 million at the end of 2025 and 23.6 million at the end of 2026.
