To further expand its service offering, Botswana Fibre Networks (BoFiNet), a wholesale connectivity provider, has partnered with DZS, a US-based supplier of fiber access, optical telecom networking, and cloud computing solutions.
BoFiNet Partnered With DZS to Power the Fiber Network in Botswana
DZS said yesterday that BoFiNet has enabled digital connectivity by implementing important solutions from its Subscriber Edge and Access portfolios. Additionally, DZS Helix premises solutions and DZS Velocity Fibre-To-The-Business (FTTB) systems are used by BoFiNet.
BoFiNet offers multi-gigabit digital services to backbone institutions, government agencies, and licensed communications service providers.
As part of the initiative, BoFiNet is connecting businesses and institutions in Mahalapye, Kanye, Tlokweng, and Molepolole with DZS solutions that leverage 10-Gigabit symmetrical passive optical networking (XGS-PON) technology.
Next Generation Communications Services
According to DZS, this network allows BoFiNet to integrate next-generation voice, video, and data services by expanding its current communications infrastructure.
Keabetswe Segole CEO, BoFiNet said, “We needed proven, reliable, cost-effective fibre technology that would allow us to easily scale and rapidly deploy the next-generation communications services our customers and their end-users are demanding.”
