These rising stars are critical to the future success of the industry. The International News Media Association (INMA) hopes to discover thirty young professionals through their Young Professionals Initiative who have already achieved great success early in their careers, possess innovative insights, have strong communication skills, and show strong potential in advertising, audience, business intelligence, content and product, and leadership functions at media companies.

They are looking for exceptional individuals who will be selected based on their merits, with a focus on creating a “30 Under 30” group that reflects the diverse markets served by the news media industry worldwide. This includes considering factors such as race, religion, color, gender, and more to ensure a well-rounded representation.


  • Announcements of the award recipients will be made globally through a virtual announcement, the blog, and a press release.
  • A certificate of recognition will be presented to the winners.
  • The recipients will receive a social media badge that can be used at their convenience.
  • They will have the privilege of choosing any 2 virtual Master Classes offered by INMA for free.
  • Non-member applicants will be granted a 12-month membership to INMA.
  • A complimentary ticket to the conference as part of “Media Innovation Week 2023” will be provided.

Eligibility Requirement

Applicant must:

  • be employed by a news media company
  • be younger than 30 years old by September 1, 2024
  • Possess a big-picture mindset and the ability to influence the news media industry
  • Demonstrate expertise and achievements in one’s career
  • Exhibit soft skills indicative of a great leader, such as being knowledge-hungry, a team player, and having an entrepreneurial spirit.
