The Erasmus MC Graduate Scholarship 2024 intake, welcomes applications from eligible international students hoping to start a life-changing academic adventure in the energetic city of Rotterdam. The University combines scholarly research with outstanding, demanding, and motivating instruction. Every research master’s programme offers two scholarships each year. Please be aware that you must submit a separate application for each scholarship you wish to apply for.
Erasmus MC Graduate Scholarship – Overview
The Erasmus MC Graduate Scholarship is a prestigious award for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who wish to enroll in any of the following research master’s programmes at Erasmus MC/Erasmus University Rotterdam. The Erasmus MC Graduate School provides funding for this scholarship.

Benefits of Erasmus MC Graduate Scholarship
- Financial Support: The Erasmus MC Graduate Scholarship provides recipients with financial support of up to €15,000.00, to cover the cost of living during their academic pursuit. Additionally, the scholarship offers a waiver of the non-EEA institutional fee, underscoring Erasmus University Rotterdam’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity in education.
- Structured Grant Disbursement: The grant is disbursed in monthly installments, with the first month amounting to €2350 and subsequent months to €1150.
- Continuation of Scholarship: Upon successful completion of the first year, scholars have the opportunity to renew the scholarship for a second year.
Qualification Criteria for Erasmus MC Graduate Scholarship
- Academic Excellence: Erasmus MC Graduate Scholarship is exclusively for high-achieving individuals who exhibit exceptional academic prowess and unwavering dedication to their chosen field of study. Applicants are expected to demonstrate outstanding study results and a strong motivation to excel in their respective research master programs.
- Financial Need: The scholarship is designed to assist students who are unable to finance their studies independently. Through financial assistance to deserving candidates, Erasmus University Rotterdam aims to ensure that economic constraints do not hinder the pursuit of academic excellence.
- Geographic Eligibility: Applicants must hail from non-EEA countries.
- Candidates who are successfully awarded the Erasmus MC Graduate Scholarship have to reside in the Netherlands to open a Dutch bank account to receive the scholarship.
Note: Kindly note that opening a bank account can take a while, hence, it’s important to have sufficient funds to cover the first month in the Netherlands.
How to Apply for the Erasmus MC Graduate Scholarship
Prospective applicants are required to submit an application comprising of the following:
- A letter of motivation
- A Curriculum vitae (CV) with grades list, and:
- A budget plan. The budget plan should offer a detailed overview of both anticipated income and expenses.
- Notification Process: Successful applicants will be notified of their scholarship status via email no later than the end of May 2024.
