The Eiselen Foundation is currently accepting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the 2024 edition of its Hans Hartwig Ruthenberg-Graduate Award. The Foundation’s top priority was the advancement of young, gifted scientists. Hence, the establishment of the Hans Hartwig Ruthenberg-Graduate Award in 1999 to honor exceptional diplomas or master’s theses in the area of food security.
The Foundation Fiat Panis has been in charge of presenting the Award since 2010. At the erstwhile agricultural college (now University) Hohenheim, Prof. Dr. Hans-Hartwig Ruthenberg succeeded Prof. Dr. Josef G. Knoll as a renowned representative of German agricultural research with an international focus.
Award/Financial Benefits
The Hans Hartwig Ruthenberg-Graduate Award comes with an endowed prize tag of 7,500 Euros. Since the inception of the award in 1999, the prize has been awarded to a total of 66 winners and a total prize money of 165.000 euros.

Eligibility Requirements
Prospective Candidates must meet the requirements below to participate:
- The applicant’s academic degree must be from a university or university of applied sciences in Europe.
- He or she must not exceed the maximum age of 30 years.
- All submitted thesis must be in German or English.
