The third edition of the Feminist Opportunities Now (FON) Project reflects IPPF’s commitment to fostering networks, alliances, and movements dedicated to preventing and ending gender-based violence (GBV).

Through an impressive grant amount ranging from €10,000 to €150,000, the FON 2024 initiative is poised to make a lasting impact. IPPF was founded in 1952 during the Third International Planned Parenthood Conference and has since evolved into a global healthcare provider and a leading advocate for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) worldwide.

About Feminist Opportunities Now (FON) 2024

IPPF proudly announces the launch of FON’s third call for applications. This call extends to networks, alliances, consortia, groups, and movements of feminist civil society organizations operating in African FON countries. The primary focus is on projects aimed at preventing and ending GBV, aligning with IPPF’s overarching mission.

FON supports both informal and unregistered groups of activists, networks, or coalitions. Emphasis is placed on empowering feminist, women-, and youth-led organizations facing significant obstacles in addressing gender-based violence within their local contexts.

Benefits of Feminist Opportunities Now (FON)

FON is an AFD-funded project designed to amplify the efforts of civil society organizations, movements, and groups combatting gender-based violence in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

The grant, ranging from €10,000 to €150,000, catalyzes transformative change.

Eligibility Criteria – Who’s Eligible to Apply?

  • The FON 2024 is open to individuals whose organizations are part of a network, consortium, alliance, or group of feminist civil society organizations dedicated to combating GBV.
  • Eligibility extends to those whose network lead organization is based in countries such as Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, and Niger.
  • Individuals with the aspiration to strengthen their network’s capacity to be dynamic, resilient, and sustainable advocates for gender justice are encouraged to apply.
  • FON is a platform that recognizes and nurtures the potential of those committed to creating a more just and equal society.

FON Does Not Fund:

  • For-profit organizations
  • International organizations
  • United Nations agencies
  • Government bodies
  • Academic institutions
  • Individuals, or organizations that promote doctrines entrenching gender injustices.
