IAFFE is delighted to share the news about the opening of applications for the IAFFE’s 2nd Feminist Economics School. This exciting event is scheduled to take place in Rome on 1-2 July 2024.
Main Focus of the 2024 IAFFE Feminist Economics School
The Feminist Economics School brings together a group of 20-30 individuals who are early career scholars, practitioners, activists, and policymakers. These individuals are involved in research and action regarding topics of significance to feminist economics but may not have had much or any formal training in this field.
Throughout the one-and-a-half-day workshops, participants will develop a foundational understanding of various aspects of feminist economics thinking, methodologies, and policy applications by reflecting on their own experiences.
The School provides a unique opportunity for participants to enhance their expertise through structured training in feminist economics. It aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world impact, while also allowing attendees to connect with prominent feminist economists.
Cost:
- Attendance at the FE School is free of charge, and financial assistance in the form of travel grants is offered to participants who require support. These grants cover the expenses related to travel, accommodation, and visa application. Additionally, meals and local transportation will be provided during the IAFFE school.
- It is highly recommended that participants also attend the IAFFE Annual Conference, which is scheduled to take place in Rome immediately after the FE School from 3-5 July. The travel grants available also cover the cost of conference registration fees. Individuals who have already applied for an IAFFE Conference travel grant are eligible to apply for the FE School as well.
Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals who are in the early stages of their careers and have an interest in feminist economics are encouraged to submit their applications.
- Individuals from the Middle East and North African region, as well as those from underrepresented groups in Europe, are welcome to apply.
- Prospective participants should feel comfortable working in English as it is the language used in the program.
How to Apply
If you want to apply for the 2nd Feminist Economics School by IAFFE. You need to fill out a form and write a short statement of 400 words.
Please make sure to complete your application before December 31st, as no applications will be considered after this date.
The selection process will take place in early February, and participants will be notified of their acceptance at that time.
