Applications are open for the WMI Undergraduate Scholarships 2024 for students from developing countries. The Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) works to promote social change locally by establishing a global network of grassroots leaders in 47 developing nations that are driving community development.

The WMI is devoted to spearheading change in their community and providing support to young people who have shown themselves to be unstoppable in the face of difficulty.

Undergraduate studies in high-need areas are supported by the Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) Scholarships, which enable them to lead social service initiatives during their academic careers and support them in overcoming obstacles to complete their studies.

WMI Undergraduate Scholarships Details

WMI student scholars study degrees in a range of subjects important to their nations’ development, such as law, agriculture, commerce, information technology, and engineering, as well as fields focused on the community, such as community development, education, social work, and medical and health sciences.

There are currently 425 graduate scholars and 279 student scholars supported by the WMI scholarship program in 54 nations.

Eligibility Requirements for WMI Undergraduate Scholarship

Prospective Candidates did the Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) Undergraduate Scholarships 2024 must meet the requirements below:

  • Candidates must be students (male or female), from a country in the developing world who:
  • Has completed a secondary education, with good to excellent grades
  • Meets the age criteria of 35 or under by March 1, 2024
  • Intends to pursue an undergraduate program in his or her country or another country in the developing world
  • Must be enrolling for his or her first bachelor’s degree or diploma
  • About to be enrolled in a program of study that will benefit the community or contribute to the continued growth and advancement of his or her home country
  • The applicant must have plans to reside and work in his or her own country after graduation
  • Must be seen to have demonstrated his or her commitment to giving back and has volunteered before applying
  • Applicants are expected to have other funds available for their education, but are unable to pursue his or her tertiary degree without financial assistance

Note: Any family members of WMI Staff and WMI Scholars, will not be considered eligible to apply.

Documents Required

The following documents are required  for an application to be considered complete:

  • Clear personal photo
  • An Essay (topic is stated on the application form)
  • The completed 2024 application form
  • Personal essay statement
  • Two recommendation letters
  • Official transcript of grades from secondary school
  • Official grading key to interpret secondary school grades
  • Official transcript of grades from tertiary studies (if applicable)
  • An official grading interpreting tertiary grades and that of the student’s national exam
  • Official results from your national exam

All documents must be translated into English and accepted file formats are JPG, PNG, GIF, DOC, DOCX, and PDF (version 10 or later).
