Tekken 8 Final Fighter Launch

Tekken 8 for those that don’t know is set to release on January 26, 2024, and just ahead of its reported launch, we have seen several trailers for every fighter that will be ready to brawl once the game is finally released. And among the 32 fighters that are on the base roster, three are entirely new to the series, and this newest fighter in question is the final addition to the trio.

Reina just as announced at EVO’s Tekken Showcase that took place on November 12, is the final fighter to join the roster of Tekken 8. A full reveal trailer that is accompanied by the announcement of the character, offering the first and initial look at the brand-new fighter.

We are anticipating that Reina could become an integral part of the story of Tekken 8‘s, especially with Heihachi reportedly missing from the base roster and her combat style also closely following Mishima-style karate, but details in regards to the story are still incredibly thin on the ground.

The Combat Style of Reina

Regarding the combat style of Reina, as per details that were shared in a PlayStation blog post, her attack pattern will reportedly focus on an acrobatic style that is rooted in Taidō, which as you should know is a Japanese martial art. And because of this, we can all expect her to move incredibly quickly with swift but also brutal attacks that keep distance between her as well as the opponent, which gets to match up to the nickname “purple lightning” which she was addressed as within her supposed reveal trailer.

And in addition to this, the very same PlayStation blog post also suggested that “her offensive capabilities near walls, in particular, are among the most potent of all characters” which therefore implies that she could become a brute force to those who are keen to pick up an entirely new character for the supposed and newest addition to the series.

What to Expect From Reina as a Final Fighter

For a final fighter, there is quite a lot to expect from how she gets to play, and there is already a ton load of speculation surrounding just how she will feed into the ongoing narrative of Tekken. But, with just a couple of months until the release of the game, we really will not have to wait too long to have these questions all answered.
