Warner Bros. Discovery add-on sports plan for Max is reportedly going to stay free for a tad bit longer than originally expected and planned, according to Deadline. The Bleacher Report Sports add-on was reportedly added in last October, and ever since it has been available at no particular cost to subscribers, the plan was set to become a paid add-on on February 29th, 2024. The switch in question to a $9.99 monthly fee has now been pushed back a couple of months after Warner Bros. Discovery worked out some technical issues on its end.

“The B/R Sports Add-On will continue to be made available to Max subscribers on us for a few more months as we finalize some tech integrations that will ensure a more seamless customer experience with our platform partners,” Max spokesperson Jeff Cusson in a statement to The Verge stated.

The B/R Sport Plan Was Launched In October

The B/R Sport tier and plan which was launched on October 5th, is inclusive of live games from a host of sports leagues including the MLB (baseball), NBA (basketball), NHL (hockey), and NCAA (college sports). Other streaming platforms and services are reportedly also working on live sports.

Netflix reportedly hosted a live golf tournament back in November and it is also planning to air live tennis match in the month of March. And with that said, Amazon started hosting its streaming-exclusive Thursday Night Football broadcast this very year.
