The program’s seventh cycle follows shortly after His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced that Expo 2020 Dubai will serve as a center for safeguarding the planet, underscoring Expo 2020 Dubai’s commitment to environmental protection and advancing human development through collaboration and meaningful partnerships.
Expo Live is a program for innovation and collaboration launched by Expo 2020 Dubai to finance, expedite, and advocate for creative solutions that enhance lives while preserving our planet. Built on the belief that innovation can emerge from any source, Expo Live illustrates how grassroots innovations can accelerate progress and inspire a more inclusive and prosperous future.
Benefits
- Approved applicants will receive funding of up to USD$100,000 to expand their enterprises and make a more significant impact on the ground.
- Along with the grant funding, recipients will gain access to mentoring, technical support, and partnerships, as well as the chance to join a community of change-makers collaborating for a better future.
Eligibility Criteria
- The grant program is open to a diverse range of problem solvers worldwide, including individual entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), non-profit organizations, and government-related entities.
- Each applicant is permitted to submit one application per grant application cycle.
Selection Criteria
The Grant Programme aims to support advanced-stage projects in the demonstration and implementation phase. Successful applicants will be required to showcase how innovations or the innovative utilization of existing solutions could result in significant community-level impacts. Additionally, the potential for replicating and/or scaling up solutions and impacts is a key consideration.
- Does the solution or its application represent a new or innovative approach?
- Is the project or business plan well-thought-out? Does the applicant possess the capacity to execute the project, and is the requested grant amount appropriate and proportionate to the expected impacts?
- Does the project or solution explicitly outline the environmental and social impacts? Are both current and intended impacts quantifiable?
- Is the project or solution prepared for demonstration and/or transitioning to scale implementation? How will additional funding contribute to further developing the innovation or scaling the project?

- To be considered for an Innovation Impact Grant, applicants may apply using the provided online application form.
- You must submit a short abstract detailing the challenge you are addressing and the proposed solution.
