ETH4D Faculty Exchange Grants 2024 – APPLY NOW

Applications are now open for the ETH4D Faculty Exchange Grants 2024. These grants offer opportunities for academic collaboration and knowledge exchange. There are two types of grants available: the ETH4D Visiting Scientist Grant and the ETH4D Teaching Stay Grant.

The Visiting Scientist Grant supports scientists from academic institutions in low and lower-middle-income countries. They can visit ETH Zurich for a short research stay, attend conferences, or participate in workshops organized by ETH Zurich scientists.

The Teaching Stay Grant supports ETH scientists or emeriti in conducting teaching activities at partner institutions in low and lower-middle-income countries. This includes delivering lectures, courses, or seminars, as well as participating in collaboration meetings.

Benefits of ETH4D Faculty Exchange Grants 2024

  • ETH4D Visiting Scientist Grant: Up to 10,000 CHF
  • ETH4D Teaching Stay Grant: Up to 5,000 CHF

Eligibility Criteria

For Visiting Scientists:

  • You must have an affiliation with an institution in a country that is categorized as “least developed,” “low-income,” or “lower-middle-income” according to the OECD list.
  • Must have an existing or planned research collaboration with the hosting professor.
  • Proven academic qualifications.

For Teaching Stay:

  • Open to researchers from all disciplines of the ETH domain.

Documents Required for Application

For Visiting Scientists:

  • Description of the research stay or conference/workshop attendance (1-2 pages).
  • Budget (using the provided template).
  • CVs of all involved persons (1-2 pages each).
  • Letter of support from an ETH professor.

For Teaching Stay:

  • Description of the teaching stay.
  • Budget (using the provided template) with a detailed statement of funds requested and all funding sources, including contributions from applicants and partners (in cash and/or in-kind).
  • CV of the applicant (max. two pages).
  • Support or invitation letter from the hosting partner university.
