Ireland’s University College Dublin (UCD) is the most sought-after university for international students globally and is ranked among the best in the world.
A handful of Global Excellence Scholarships are available from University College Dublin (UCD) each year to non-EU international students who will be enrolling in courses beginning in September. However, to apply for the Global Excellence Scholarship, students must first have received an offer (or conditional offer) to study in an eligible UCD course.

The UCD Global Excellence Scholarships awards apply to full-time Masters programmes, except clinical programmes and Masters programmes in the Smurfit School of Business, joint masters and online programmes and the Masters of Science in Digital Investigation & Forensic Computing

Eligibility Requirements
To be considered, Applicants must:
- Be Africans and current residents of an African country
- Must also be classified as non-EU for tuition fee and application purposes;
- The program is open to all successful Candidates to eligible full-time, taught programmes who are citizens of and resident in Africa.
- Only taught undergraduate and graduate degrees are eligible; additionally, the student must reside in Dublin and have no coursework awarded by another university.
- The Global Excellence Scholarship is not available for any Clinical Program. The Qualified Programs section contains a comprehensive list of all qualified programs.
- Candidates must be self-sufficient and eligible for tuition fees and application classification as non-EU;
- Due to how competitive this scholarship is, the chosen candidates probably hold a master’s degree with honors, preferably first class.
- Scholarships are renewed every year as long as the recipient maintains a minimum yearly grade point average of 3.08/4.2 (upper second class).
- As earlier mentioned, applicants must have an ‘offer, ‘Conditional Offer’, ‘Accept’ or ‘Conditional Accept’ status associated with their application;
