Applications are currently being accepted for the National Press Foundation Economic Justice Journalism Awards 2024. In recognition of outstanding reporting on economic inequality and its impact on American families, the National Press Foundation is granting three Economic Justice Journalism Awards for work spanning various mediums.
National Press Foundation Economic Justice Journalism Awards 2024
The awards are distributed for work published within the following categories:
- Stories published/aired by any news outlet.
- Stories published/aired by news outlets with a newsroom of 150 or fewer journalists.
- Stories published/aired by news outlets with a newsroom of 50 or fewer journalists, or by freelance, unemployed, or furloughed journalists.
This prestigious award is presented alongside briefings tailored for journalists who participated in the Future of the American Child Reporting Fellowships in 2023 and 2024. Comprehensive summaries, transcripts, and videos of these briefings are available in NPF’s resource areas dedicated to Children & Families, Poverty, and Inequality.
Grant
- Each recipient will receive a $4,000 prize for their published work.
Eligibility
- This opportunity is open to journalists based in the United States who have published stories falling within any of the aforementioned categories.
Application deadline
All applications must be submitted by March 10, 2024.

If links are unavailable, you may attach files, ensure that they do not exceed 20 MB in size.
