The Goethe-Institut Nigeria invites applications for its Support & Connect Program 2024, aimed at supporting Nigerian solo artists, collectives, and cultural experts in the realization of their projects.
Over the years, Goethe-Institut Nigeria has been a staunch supporter of diverse projects initiated by Nigerian artists and cultural initiatives spanning various art forms, including music, contemporary dance, photography, documentary films, theatre, visual arts, literature, and more.
Funded Goethe-Institut Nigeria Support and Connect Program
The program extends its support to artists and cultural experts who are invited to participate in festivals or cultural projects in Germany or on the African continent but face financial constraints.
This support is deemed crucial in providing emerging talents within Nigeria’s cultural landscape with the opportunity to showcase their work and be recognized.
Funding is Available for
- Art and Culture Projects: Up to 5,000 EUR each
- Art and Culture Festivals: Up to 5,000 EUR each
- Art and Culture Travel Grant: Up to 2,500 EUR each
Eligibility criteria
Art and Culture Projects:
- Solo artists or collectives with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience organizing arts or cultural projects in Nigeria.
- Developed project ideas with a certain level of preparation.
- Implementation during 2024, completed by December 10, 2024.
Art and Culture Festivals:
- Open to art and culture festivals in Nigeria.
- Festivals are in at least their third year.
- Implementation during 2024, completed by December 10, 2024.
Art and Culture Travel Grant:
- Open to individuals invited to cultural festivals/events/projects in Germany or any African country.
- The hosting organization is responsible for accommodation and living expenses.
- Travel during 2024, completed by December 10, 2024.
Application requirements
Application documents include:
- Completed application form with a budget plan
- CV of the project leader/visiting artist
- Additional references and material
- Copy of passport photograph
