HiiL Justice Accelerator Programme – Empowering Justice Startups Worldwide 2024 (€10,000 in non-equity funding)

The accelerator program is designed for startups with a product already making an impact in the market, and wishing to rapidly expand. It gathers a group of startups from various African and Middle Eastern countries for a rigorous four-month program featuring workshops, coaching, mentorship, and grant funding. The hybrid program culminates in a Demo Day and awards for the winners of the Innovating Justice Award.

Empowering Justice Startups Worldwide

This year, the accelerator is prioritizing the most urgent issues identified in our Justice Needs and Satisfaction surveys in targeted countries. They are seeking out startups with creative solutions to either prevent or address these challenges:

  • Nigeria: neighbours, land crime, domestic violence, housing.
  • Tunisia, Iraq and Palestine: employment and SMEs
  • Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda Somalia, MSMEs, crime, sexual gender-based violence.

Eligibility Requirements

Startups  from the MENA region, Kenya, and Nigeria with:

  • Innovative solutions focused on addressing justice issues through a people-centric approach.
  • Startups should have a working product with evidence of customer demand through user traction and revenue. Early-stage startups are advised to reach out to regional innovation hubs for information on ideation and incubation programs.
  • A capable team of founder(s) is essential.
  • A clear revenue model is required.
  • The ambition to expand beyond the initial target market is important.
