Eligibility Criteria for JDS Scholarship

Master Applicant Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Candidates Must be a citizens of Kenya.
  • Age: Must be below 40 years old as of April 1st, 2024.
  • Occupation: Be a public servant at target organizations.
  • Work Experience: Posses a minimum of 2 years of work experience as a public servant, including a period of probation.
  • Academic Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with 16 years of formal education.
  • English Proficiency: While not mandatory, an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher is preferable.

PhD Eligibility Requirements

  • Citizenship: Applicants must hold Kenyan citizenship to be considered
  • Education: Be or She should hold a Master’s degree.
  • Age: Should be below 45 years old as of April 1st, 2024.
  • Relevance: The research theme must align with the development issues of Kenya.
  • Work Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years of work experience as a public servant, including a period of probation.
  • Recommendation: Submit a recommendation letter from the current duty office supervisor.
