In its fifth year, Imagine Cup Junior offers students aged 5-18 an exciting chance to explore technology and its potential to address global issues. Participants will engage in a global student challenge, gaining valuable exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity, regardless of their skill level. This program serves as a great introductory opportunity for all students.
Microsoft Imagine Cup Junior
Microsoft is excited to introduce a new segment for students between the ages of 5 and 12 this year. This group will concentrate on Technology for Good, with tailored lessons for young learners. The updated teaching materials will assist educators in providing this valuable opportunity to their students. Microsoft is also pleased to share that they have included a module on Generative AI for the AI for Good competition in Imagine Cup Junior for students aged 13-18 years.

Benefits
- Participants will receive Azure and OpenAI credits as part of the prize.
- The best three teams will have the opportunity to showcase their startups at Microsoft Build on a worldwide platform.
- The champions will receive a cash prize of USD100k and a mentoring session with Satya Nadella, the Chairman and CEO of Microsoft.
- The second and third-place teams will each receive USD 50k.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to students between the ages of 5 and 18 who have a passion for technology.
- To participate in Imagine Cup as a student, a team leader, such as an educator, instructor, staff member, parent, or guardian over the age of 18, must register on behalf of the student. The team leader will then gain access to the Imagine Cup Junior Resource Pack, which is designed to support learning and the challenge.
How to Apply For Microsoft Imagine Cup Junior 2024
- Registration for Imagine Cup Junior began on January 10, 2024, and Team Leaders are required to submit projects for their student teams by May 8, 2024, 23:59 (GMT+0).
- After registration, Team Leaders will have access to all the necessary resources for educating students and organizing an excellent Imagine Cup Junior challenge.
