Are you a remarkable young African woman, driven to enact positive change? Seize the opportunity to showcase your potential through the 2024 MILEAD Fellows Program! For over ten years, MILEAD Fellows have been at the forefront of transformative action, dismantling barriers, implementing impactful initiatives, and challenging gender-based discrimination.
This program is designed to identify, nurture, and elevate the upcoming cohort of African female leaders, equipping them with the requisite skills and support to excel in leadership positions across the continent.
The MILEAD Program delivers top-tier education, skills, values, and support structures essential for success in 21st-century leadership roles. This year, the program will be extended to 25 exceptional young women who have exhibited leadership potential within their communities, organizations, or professions.
Participants will engage in a three-week residential Summer Institute in Ghana, alongside a community change project. While the program encourages full-time student or professional status, exceptions are made for the duration of the three-week summer institute.
About the MILEAD Fellows Program
MILEAD Fellows Program stands as a bold, transformative initiative dedicated to the comprehensive leadership development of promising young leaders chosen as Fellows.
Fellows undergo a blend of training, experiential learning, and mentorship aimed at fostering knowledge and skills, fortifying networks, and nurturing a supportive ecosystem for women’s leadership on critical issues.
Moreover, the program connects determined young women with influential, seasoned African leaders committed to inspiring and empowering the next generation. Crucially, Fellows benefit from lifelong solidarity and support through the MILEAD Network.
A distinctive feature of the program is the intentional integration of community service throughout the year-long training. Each Fellow will spearhead a community change (MICHANGE) project addressing a critical issue pertinent to their community or African women at large.
