What is ACONA?
The Arms Control Negotiation Academy commonly referred to as ACONA is a distinguished institution. It’s offering a 1 year, high-level professional development program designed for a select cohort of rising stars in the field of international security.
This rigorous program, meticulously designed to hone the skills of aspiring arms control negotiators, encompasses a comprehensive curriculum that delves into critical historical case studies, cutting-edge technological advancements, and advanced negotiation strategies within the realm of arms control.
ACONA Fellowship Program
Central to the ACONA experience are three intensive week-long workshops, often referred to as “boot camps,” where fellows immerse themselves in a dynamic environment filled with expert lectures, immersive negotiation exercises, and engaging small group discussions led by distinguished scholars and practitioners.
Eligibility Requirements
ACONA welcomes applications from;
- Eligible candidates of diverse nationalities with 3-5 years of advanced professional or research experience in fields such as arms control and nuclear issues, negotiation and mediation, or international peace, security, and global affairs, with a particular emphasis on U.S.-Russia-China-EU relations.
- The most competitive applicants will demonstrate a track record of excellence in their respective fields, coupled with international experience, advanced academic credentials, and public recognition of their achievements.
