You can now make YouTube Music your default service on the Apple HomePod. With this, YouTube Music now joins what can be seen as an otherwise mostly barren third-party landscape of HomePod.

Excellent news for the dedicated few Apple Home users who make use of YouTube Music (well, I know some of you are still out there) as you can now integrate the service directly with your HomePods and either opt to ask Siri to play songs making use of YouTube Music or get to set the service as your default source. 9to5Google spotted a Reddit post from Brandon Bilinski, YouTube Music product head announcing the said update. You can now find instructions for setting up the whole integration on a support page for the service.
The list of third-party music services that you can now directly integrate with HomePods is still pretty small. And until now, the biggest alternatives to Apple Music that have already added that support were just maybe Deezer and Pandora. And now you can finally ask Siri to play music with Spotify on HomePods, but the firm however still doesn’t support connecting the app directly to Apple’s speakers.
How to Connect YouTube Music to Apple HomePods

After reportedly force-closing the app and then re-opening it, however, it was there. And just so you know, you may also need to make sure that you have the latest version of the app installed on your device.
