You requested for a much better iOS experience, and as a result, we have brought one major performance improvement to all the supported iPhone and iPad Devices,” Xbox product manage Nicole Hilbert and Akshar Pandia Stated in Xbox’s most recent blog post. “With these updates, you should have a smoother and more responsive gameplay experience.”

Xbox Cloud gaming was launched on iOS and iPadOS alongside PC and MacOS on June 28, 2021, after moving out of its invite-only beta testing phase. Unfortunately, there is no standalone app for Xbox Cloud Gaming due to Apple’s stringent app policies, so all those that are playing the service on any of the devices would be left with no choice but to access it on their safari web browser.

Xbox Cloud Gaming Improvements

As stated by the verge, the improvement that the Xbox Cloud Gaming brought to iOS devices is accommodated by optimized video output and optimized network data transmission to speed up the responsiveness of the games that you are playing on the service. In other words, those improvements have reduced the overall input latency, a particularly frustrating issue on a lot of cloud gaming services, not to talk about the version of the “Kingdom Hearts” series on Nintendo Switch.

Latency happens to be the delay found between the player pressing the button or moving the analog stick on the controller and the gameplay as it appears on-screen. The severity of issues concerning latency depends on the level of internet connectivity while cloud gaming is going on.

All Thanks to the iOS update, Microsoft has reported a “Significant increase in positive player feedback” from Xbox Cloud Gaming users with Apple devices. Also, the company reported that the update led to about 35% longer Play times on the service because of now seamless gameplay.

If you want to try out cloud gaming on your iPhone or iPad, then open your Safari and head to xbox.com/play.
