If you happen to be on a flashy new PlayStation 5 and have a subscription to its premium service, PlayStation Plus, you get to play “GTA Online” entirely for free up until the 14 of June. After that owner of the PlayStation can keep the GTA Online for as long as they hold their PlayStation Plus Subscription.

How to Claim GTA Online

Claiming “GTA Online” for free is not a hard process to follow, once you have turned on your PS5, assuming you already logged into a PlayStation Account using your PlayStation Plus subscription attached to it.

If you are not already aware of how to subscribe to the PlayStation Plus, then be aware that the process is also a simple one; you can head straight to the PlayStation official Sign up Page and follow the steps there. But you should be aware that it is a premium service that would cost money up-front. The base subscription fee for PlayStation Plus is $9.99 or equivalent.

Once we have settled that, you would only be required to navigate to the PlayStation Store icon where you can just tap in the X button on your DualSense controller to descend into the PlayStation Store interface. At the moment, “GTA Online” is appearing as the first option on the left once you enter the store, but you can always choose to find it by heading over to the icon that appears as a magnifying glass on the PlayStation Store home menu – immediately to the right of the browser and then search “GTA Online” once the keyboard appears.

Once you are inside the “GTA Online” tab, you can just tap the download button to download the game straight to your PS5 console.

GTA Online Next-gen improvements

GTA Online on PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles compared to the one on the PS5 console are a lot different, it gives you an entirely different experience. One such improvement on the PS5 version is that it offers a resolution of up to 4K at 60 frames per second. This new version of the “GTA Online” also bells and whistles like HDR support, ray tracing, and upgraded texture quality.

GTA V and GTA Online are available on both the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles. You can choose the purchase “Grand Theft Auto V” for $9.99 until June 14, after which it will go back to MSRP of $39.99.
