LG’s latest MyView monitors, powered by webOS, are now available for purchase, with the lineup making its debut at CES this month. The collection includes a 31.5-inch 4K IPS panel variant (model 32SR85U) starting at $599.99. While gamers might find better options with faster response times and higher refresh rates, this monitor, boasting a 95 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, holds appeal for visual creatives.

How LG’s new 32-inch 4K Smart Monitor Works

Not only does it offer a workspace solution, but it also transforms into an entertainment hub once work is completed. With AirPlay 2 and Miracast support, users can easily stream content from other devices. The monitor’s 5ms response times and 60Hz refresh rate may not be optimal for gaming, but it positions itself as an ideal choice for movie watching at your desk, providing an immersive experience without the distraction of loud fans or notifications. Additionally, its compact design makes it a more convenient fit for home offices compared to Samsung’s Ark.

The webOS app support extends the monitor’s functionality for work purposes, integrating Microsoft 365 and Google Calendar. It also facilitates video calling through a detachable 1080p webcam. Navigating the user interface is made convenient with the voice-activated Magic Remote, and users can opt for a traditional mouse and keyboard setup.

Design and Display

LG’s sleek design features thin bezels on three sides, and the display is supported by a removable height- and tilt-adjustable stand. The monitor includes three USB-C Power Delivery ports delivering up to 90W, along with WiFi and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity. Additionally, it comes with two HDMI ports and 5W stereo speakers.

Price and Availability

While the inclusion of smart features may contribute to a higher price, LG’s implementation improves upon similar concepts, as seen in Samsung’s M8 Smart Monitor. The product lineup includes a 4K model and two 1080p versions: the 31.5-inch 32SR53FS priced at $299.99 and the 27-inch 27SR50F at $199.99. All three models are available for immediate and free shipping.
