Requirements for the University Of Sheffield Masters Scholarship
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to be considered for this opportunity:
- Offer Acceptance: Hold an offer to study one of the aforementioned courses at the University of Sheffield, with registration slated for September 2024.
- Applicants must be classified as overseas students for tuition fee purposes.
- Self-Funded Status: Scholarships are exclusively awarded to self-funded individuals.
- Academic Qualification: Applicants must not hold a qualification equal to or higher than a master’s degree.
- International Study: Prospective scholars should not have previously undertaken studies outside of their home country.
- Exclusive Scholarship: This scholarship cannot be awarded concurrently with other funding awards.
- Full-Time Commitment: Scholars must commit to full-time attendance, immersing themselves fully in the academic and extracurricular opportunities offered by the University of Sheffield.
- Admissions Conditions: Fulfill any conditions attached to the offer of admission before the specified deadline.
- Unconditional Offer: Secure an unconditional offer to study at the University by September 2, 2024.
- Visa Requirement: Obtain a study visa for the September 2024 intake.
- Candidates must be nationals of or permanently domiciled in an African country.
- The University Of Sheffield Masters Scholarship can not be deferred and does not apply to students taking a leave of absence when they return to their studies.

Selection Process
The selection process will be graced by a panel of senior members of staff, who will select the strongest application. The panel will expect to see the following in each candidate:

- Reasons for applying for a postgraduate course at the University of Sheffield
- The challenges to academic and professional progress and the successful overcoming of them.
- Work experience in the community, voluntary work and in the field of International Development.
- Goals relating to the postgraduate degree applied for, and how their learning will benefit others from their country or Africa in general
