In this next stage of the Eisner Prize’s history, the Eisner Foundation is offering financial resources, networking opportunities, and the prestige of the Eisner Prize to leaders with new ideas and perspectives that will move the field forward.

Overview of the Eisner Prize Fellowship

The Eisner Prize Fellows application is open to anybody trying to innovate in intergenerational connection, whether through research, programmes, technology, or other field-advancing initiatives. The fellowship specially welcomes applications from young individuals, persons of colour, and those working in historically marginalized communities.

Fellows will assemble in late July to begin their Fellowship. The scheduled dates and locations will be disclosed before the application opening. In the next months, the cohort will meet regularly via Zoom to share their progress, hear from experts, and learn from one another.

Fellows will also check in with The Eisner Foundation on an individual basis. Each Fellow will also be requested to write a brief blog post for The Eisner Foundation’s blog at some time during the Fellowship.

The Eisner Prize Fellowships 2024-25 cycle, will be granted to 3-5 intergenerational leaders, with each Fellow receiving a total of $50,000: a $10,000 stipend and $40,000 to support their specific intergenerational initiative.

Eligiblity Requirements

  • The Eisner Prize Fellowship Program is open to Individuals regardless of affiliation. Both students, workers with nonprofits, government, or for-profit organizations, or people unaffiliated with any of these, can apply for this Fellowship.
  • The Fellowship is also open to co-leadership teams, however, the application is designed for individuals. This will require applicant teams to select one person as the main contact, who will initiate the application process. Awarding of funds will also be given to individuals, even though it’s awarded to a team.

Note: The fellowship is not designed to function as a grant-making programme for NGOs, thus while nonprofit personnel may apply and carry out their project under the canopy of their organization, the planned initiative must be something new, conceived and carried out by the Fellow.

Eligible Project Proposals

  • The most effective proposals will be those for innovative innovations in intergenerational connection.
  • The Eisner Foundation is open to new programmes, research, technology, and other innovations that actively connect different generations in novel ways. This is not designed to support existing programmes unless the plan includes new elements of such programmes.
  • Projects should have goals that can be met within a year and a budget of $40,000. An itemized budget is not required at the time of application; however, the applicant should offer a project scope that can be completed within a year and with this amount of financing.
  • Projects must be executable by the Fellows themselves. Eisner Foundation also provides limited support for Fellows as thought partners and connectors.
