The Heritage Series’ Asian Pacific American (APA) Legacy Public Service Announcement (PSA) scholarship is in honour of APA Heritage Month. The award is available to any high school or college student of APA descent in the United States. The Heritage Series’ APA Legacy PSA scholarship is designed to help APAs develop entertaining and compelling 60-90 second video vignettes.
Your videos should explain what it means to you to be an Asian Pacific American (APA) and why you think it’s important to recognize and celebrate your cultural heritage. You can use the hashtag #APALegacy2024 and post about customs or traditions you follow, foods you enjoy, or activities you enjoy with your family and friends. You can be as creative, silly, or serious as you want, but you also have to share a little bit about yourself.
Eligibility/Criteria for APA Legacy Scholarship 2024
Applicants who are Content Creators are expected to be identified in part or completely as AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander)
Candidates Must be currently enrolled in a high school or an accredited college around the world.
Individuals can submit group videos, but the scholarship fund provided will be given to the person who submits the video. The person is however mandated to share the money, if awarded.

How to Apply
To apply for the Asian Pacific American (APA) Legacy Scholarship 2024, qualified candidates should follow these rules in order.
- Create an Instagram Reel of about 60-90 seconds about your APA experience.
- Post to your account as a public Instagram Reel.
- Then tag @apalegacy and ensure to use #APALegacy2024 in the caption
- Fill out the Application Form located at the official website below for submission.
- One entry per Instagram account.
Judging Criteria
- A panel of APA journalists, academics, subject matter experts, and media professionals will judge the entries.
- Upon the announcement of the winners, the full roster of judges will become public knowledge. Messaging, Execution, and Creativity will be used to evaluate entries.
- Candidates are expected to showcase their incredible tales! Submissions must be made using the Official Entry Form at the website below, as well as a public Instagram Reels post with the hashtag #APALegacy2024 and @apalegacy tagged.

Specifications
- Every video must be “user-generated content,” and the content creator will always be given credit.
- All submitted videos will be featured in the APA Legacy Public Service Campaign and shared via the Heritage Series-managed APA Legacy and associated Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram sites.
- The winners will be highlighted on the Heritage Series’ Twitter and Instagram accounts, as well as the APA Legacy Tumblr blog, Facebook page, and other supporting Facebook pages.
- Under the name “2024 APA Legacy Public Service Campaign,” the content will be managed and distributed from May 1 through May 31, 2024.
- Participants’ contributed material will remain their property and be protected by copyright. We would want to feature your narratives!
All the submitted entries will be accepted from May 1 to May 31, 2024. After which selected winners will be contacted on June 7, 2024, and cash prizes will be released by the close of business on June 8, 2024, via VENMO.
