Applications are open for the HZDR Summer Student Program 2024 in Germany. The HZDR Summer Student Program offers a paid and funded opportunity that is open to students from any nationality.

During the program, you’ll be part of research groups, engaging in their activities from July to September. Their researchers will create a project plan for you and guide you throughout. You’ll also attend lectures and lab tours to explore various aspects of their research center.

The program, located in Dresden at the HZDR Research Center, runs from July 29 to August 30, 2024. You can stay for a minimum of six weeks or up to nine weeks. This initiative contributes to international and interdisciplinary scientific research, fostering integrative knowledge.

Selection Criteria

Participants will be selected based on the quality of their resume, academic grades, and a letter of recommendation from a professor, group leader, or scientist familiar with the applicant’s performance and achievements.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants of any nationality are welcome.
  • You must be master’s or diploma students in natural sciences (physical or life sciences) or related studies.
  • Should possess a Bachelor’s degree, or for diploma degree programs, confirmation of passing the third year of studies before the upcoming summer.
  • Proof of student status, such as ID.

Result Announcement

Notifications of acceptance or rejection will be sent via email no later than mid-April 2024.

How Do You Apply?

  2. Provide necessary information about yourself and your education.
  3. Upload a Curriculum Vitae in English.
  4. Submit a copy of your academic grades/records.
  5. Upload a copy of your student ID.
  6. Receive a link for a professor or senior scientist to upload a letter of recommendation. Ensure the letter is received before the deadline.
