The Earth Journalism Network (EJN), an initiative by Internews, is hosting a three-day workshop on renewable energy from June 27-29, 2024, in Gaya, Bihar.
EJN Communicators’ Workshop on Renewable Energy in India 2024
This workshop is open to communicators from Bihar, as well as those who have outlets with large audiences in the state. As part of the workshop, EJN aims to improve public awareness and understanding of Bihar’s ambitious target to have 40% of renewable energy in its total power consumption by 2030.
The workshop sessions will cover topics such as decentralized renewable energy and biofuels and will provide an opportunity for communicators to improve their research and reporting skills. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) seeks to foster collaboration among communicators, experts, policymakers, researchers, and communities during their events.

- Selected participants will have their travel expenses, accommodation, and meals covered by the organizers.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the workshop, applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
- Participants are expected to commit to attending all three days of the workshop organized by the Earth Journalism Network.
- Have prior experience reporting on energy, environment, business, or science.
- Proficiency in English and/or Hindi for effective communication.
- Show a genuine interest in renewable energy issues.
- Give permission to the organizers to republish any output resulting from participation in the workshop.
