About Kokoro Scholarship 2024
The Kokoro Scholarship in collaboration with One Young World, aims to identify and connect young Indigenous leaders from the USA and Canada who are spearheading effective and innovative mental health solutions within their communities.
The Kokoro Scholarship programme aligns with One Young World’s Indigenous Strategy and Kokoro’s mission of championing impactful mental health actors.
Scholarship Benefits
Successfully Selected scholars will receive the following benefits:
- Attend the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal, Canada (18-21 September)
- Attend the One Young World Indigenous Day on 17 September.
- Furnished Hotel accommodation in Montréal between 16 and 21 (inclusive) September.
- Free Catering services for the full duration of the event.
- Cost coverage for the recipient’s Return air travel.
- Selected Candidates receive membership to the One Young World Ambassador Community.
- Invitation to join Kokoro’s network of ‘Fellow Activators,’ acting as ambassadors for mental health initiatives.
- Access to One Young World Indigenous Day
- The One Young World Indigenous Day, commencing on Tuesday, 17 September, prior to the core Summit dates, provides a platform for young Indigenous and First Nations leaders worldwide to share experiences, learn from each other, and engage with other delegates. This event celebrates cultural diversity and traditions, offering a unique opportunity to showcase Indigenous cultures and traditions.
Eligibility Requirements for Kokoro Scholarship 2024
To be eligible for the Kokoro Scholarship 2024, candidates must:
- Meet the age criteria of 18-30 years by the date of the One Young World Summit 2024.
- Be resident in the USA or Canada.
- Identify as members of an Indigenous community.
- Be actively engaged in a leadership role of an initiative/organization benefiting the mental health of Indigenous people.
