The 2024 Global Citizen Prize is currently accepting applications. This annual prize, known as the Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award, was introduced in 2018. It aims to recognize and honor young individuals who are making a positive impact on the world. The award is presented in collaboration with Cisco, a technology company and global partner of Global Citizen. It specifically acknowledges individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who have adopted innovative approaches to addressing problems and have significantly contributed to ending poverty within their communities.
Cisco Youth Leadership Award 2024 (Up To $250,000 prize)
Cisco and Global Citizen share the belief that young people worldwide are taking charge in creating and implementing solutions toward achieving global goals and tackling global challenges. This shared conviction led to the creation of the Cisco Youth Leadership Award.
Eligibility Criteria
- People who are aged between 18 and 30 are qualified to submit their applications.
- Applicants must be affiliated with or employed by an existing organization.
- Applications are open to individuals from any location around the globe.
How Is the Winner Selected?
Applicants are evaluated comprehensively based on their application materials and supporting documents, with equal importance given to five criteria that carry the same weightage:
- Impact: Proven track record of making a measurable and significant difference on a large scale within the past 3-5 years in support of one or more of the Global Goals.
- Vision: Compelling and concrete plans for how to expand and further advance this work over the next 3-5 years, with a clear understanding of how winning the prize will contribute to these efforts.
- Catalyst: Inspires and motivates other young individuals to make a positive impact in the pursuit of achieving one or more of the Global Goals.
- Global Citizenship: Demonstrates the values and embodies the mindset of a global citizen and problem solver on a global scale.
- Technical Innovation: Utilizes technology or internet-based communication methods creatively to enhance efficiency, widen reach, and amplify the impact of their work.
Benefit
- The prize consists of a $250,000 award that will be given to the organization to which the individual actively contributes.
How To Apply For Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award 2024
The application requires four components:
- An “About You” section where you provide basic personal and organizational details.
- A 1-2 minute video pitch explaining why you should receive the prize, including how you are working towards achieving one or more Global Goals.
- An outline demonstrating how your work aligns with the judging criteria (impact, vision, catalyst, global citizenship, and technology innovation) through short answer questions about your work.
- More information is needed regarding your organization, and this includes providing proof of its registration.
- It’s important to note that you don’t need to be a founder or CEO of an organization to apply. The Cisco Youth Leadership Award recognizes anyone who has made an impact, emphasizing leadership, dedication, and innovation.
