Responsibilities

  • Laboratory Analysis:
  • Perform biochemical tests on blood, urine, and other bodily fluids to analyze various chemical components.
  • Use state-of-the-art laboratory techniques and tools to guarantee precise and dependable test outcomes.
  • Result Interpretation:
  • Interpret laboratory test findings and provide diagnostic insights for patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss results and contribute to treatment plans.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Monitor and manage quality assurance and control processes in the laboratory.
  • Establish and uphold standards to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Test Selection:
  • Advise healthcare providers on suitable laboratory tests for specific medical conditions.
  • Stay updated on advancements in clinical chemistry and recommend new tests if necessary.
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with laboratory technicians, healthcare teams, and other medical professionals to ensure efficient communication and teamwork.
  • Research and Development:
  • Engage in ongoing research and development to improve laboratory practices and stay updated on emerging trends in clinical pathology.
  • Training and Education:
  • Provide guidance and knowledge to laboratory staff and healthcare professionals regarding laboratory techniques and the proper understanding of test results.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a practicing Chemical Pathologist
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
  • Completion of the mandatory internship program at an MDCN-approved hospital
  • Board certification and possession of a medical license
  • Participation in a residency or postgraduate training program in Chemical/Clinical Pathology
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement
